Outstanding Performance Award
September 27th, 2007 by massiveheadwoundWhat a day, Jeff Immelt The CEO and Chairman of the Board of General Electric visited Malaysia; I was so lucky to catch a glimpse of him. Boy, was I not ready for what was in store for me. It was an hour of question and answers, as the hour came to pass, the HR manager announced that there was a special recognition session from the GE’s 6 businesses. GE Healtcare announced 2 persons, Manjot Deol, a modality manager for his amazing performance in growing the IT business in Malaysia and Trisha, who? Trisha Thow, I could not believe my ears.
Heads turn towards my seat, guess that an indication itself that it was for me. Jeff Immelt was already waiting on the stage. All I could think was, Dang, should have wore something more smart looking!!!
Dang, I totally ruined my stage moment, bad fashion sense and a limp handshake, I was afraid to crush Jeff’s billion dollar hands…
There u go, wasted my big chance!
I co-piloted the TB-20
January 4th, 2007 by massiveheadwoundI flew..
I flew..
I panicked. And I passed the steering wheel back to the pilot.
I co-piloted the beautiful, fast, sexy, no nonsense, and retractable gear bird. The Socata TB-20 aircraft is a light single engine piston aircraft manufactured by Socata and designed in the late 1970s. The letters TB in the name stand for Tarbes, a city in the south of France where the aircraft is manufactured. It has a variable pitch propeller and the first of its class in Europe. This little baby sits 4 POB (persons on board) and has a min endurance of 4 hours. The pilot was of course the famous cardiologist from Bangsar, KL.
Now I know about beacon, headwind and military alphabet codes.
Military Alphabet or ICAO (International Civil Aviation Organization)
A=Alpha B=Bravo C=Charlie D=Delta E=Echo F=Foxtrot G=Golf H=Hotel I=India J=Juliet K=Kilo L=Lima M=Mike N=November O=Oscar P=Papa Q=Quebec R=Romeo S=Sierra T=Tango U=Uniform V=Victor W=Whiskey X=X-ray Y=Yankee Z=Zulu
It was a chance of a lifetime for me, flying from Seletar Airbase, Singapore to Subang Terminal 3, Malaysia yesterday on 4 Jan 2007, just wow.
Over.
Best moments…
November 19th, 2006 by massiveheadwound* To laugh till it hurts.
* To dive… anywhere!
* To listen to your favorite song in the radio.
* To go to bed while it rains outside.
* To leave the shower and find that the towel is warm.
* To find money in the pocket.
* To accidentally hear somebody say something good about you.
* To wake up and realize it is still possible to sleep for a couple of hours.
* To watch the sunset from the hill top.
* To smell a baby’s skin.
* To take an evening walk along the beach.
* To have somebody tell you that he/she loves you.

October 31st, 2006 by massiveheadwoundWhen i spotted the Manta, i was like, "Dang, i am Narc-ed! Is that a Mermaid?" I did not expect it, I had to close my eyes and calm my excitement! The Manta got cleaner Wrasses stuck to it!!!
My bad. $250 per person return. Silap.
For the coach, look here : www.airebus.net
and if u need an electric plug point by your seat, go for odd numbers, ie, Seats 5, 7, 9.
And for privacy, u can add RM5 more for lower deck seats, just 3 seats there. Boleh 3-some!
Resort is nice, it’s the only one on the island that has a dive centers, others operate separately. Remember to bring the Jap or European type of Plug Points Adapters to charge your batteries.
Makan, as i was sitting @ the rest, reading the menu, i went straight to Filipino Food!!!
Try this:
Kare-Kare, the stew with a rich nutty sauce and served with a variety of vegetables, well, looks like curry but it’s not spicy at all, so Trisha had to bite chilli-padis to quench her thirst for HOT SPICE!
Adobo is considered the national dish of the Philippines. This dish consists of chunks of chicken or pork or both cooked in soy sauce, vinegar, bay leaf, lots of garlic and whole peppercorns. I had pork adobo!!!
I would not recommend chicken, hahahha, there’s cock-fighting on the island!!! Speculations again… hehheh.
Try also sizzling gambas, fish kinilaw and never to forget, San Miguel!
Happy Hours start from 5pm!!!
Other very delicious, highly rec food available at the resort… are Nasi Goreng Indonesia (spicy) and Exotic Pizza! if u got enuff of pinoy food.
mango also very sweet there! if get constipation, remember to eat more fibres and fruits!!! hahhahha.
ya, Clubbing scene, there’s SunSplash with pool table and Pinoys love to sing, so got their local RedBox-island style. Check it out! Remember ur torches tho, and a good sense of direction helps, no road signs, just pathways… then again exploration is fun.
Pls do remind me what i left out on my report!
In search of the elusive Thresher Sharks!
October 29th, 2006 by massiveheadwound
Malapascua
,
Philippines
Our journey began on Monday when we boarded an executive coach
from Mid Valley’s Boulevard Hotel at 1pm. About 4 hours later, we arrived to
our destination Asia Hotel in
Singapore
.
Detoured off to Orchard for dinner and “jalan-jalan.” Then headed off to the
Budget Terminal for Cebu Pacific Air’s Sin-Cebu inaugural flight due at
midnight. Even with a delay of almost an hour, my personal opinion was the
service was better then AA. With numbered seating somemore!!! Baggages
allowance of 20kg each, good for those with diving gears. Furthermore, for this
maiden voyage, we were given welcome necklaces, a pillow each, some curry puffs
and Ice Lemon Tea bottled drinks. Not bad for <Sg$250 for 2 return tix, inc
SG airport tax.
ZzzZZzz away, we arrived at
Cebu
Airport
at 5am. Transfer to Isla de Malapascua took another 4 hours, (car, sampan and
resort boat.) Good to have some loose Pesos as tips. Finally arrived at Exotic
Malapascua Resort, greeted by friendly Pinoy hostess, all ready with a cool
glass of OJ. I generally have very low expectation of dive resorts as I’ve only
been to local ones in
Malaysia
,
so again I was very satisfied with room cleanliness, overall service of the
friendly staff, then again I am such a lovable person, everyone is frenly!!!
We were all checked in by 9:30am,
eager for first dive!!! We did a total of 11 dives at various locations, which
include, Monad Shoal,
Gato
Island
, House Reef, North Point, Light House,
Calanggaman
Island
, Nunez Shoal.
The most interesting was our
encounter with 2 Thresher Sharks, magnificent beings moving with a powerful
swift of its Looooooong Tail! Amazing Sight, for this trip we dare not hope to
see these elusive sharks, but thank God that they decided to show up at Monad Shoal, the cleaning station. Max Depth
at Monad was around 24m, watch out for
ur
Deco Time!!! After the Thresher Twins circled around for 5 mins, an 300 odd
group of jacks did their part. Lo and Behold, a sudden appearance a MANTARAY,
sweeping across the blue skies, as graceful as can be, was the icing to our
already blessed day. This was more than we bargained for. God Is Gracious! Amen.
OKOK, Tired already going to
ZzzzZZz. Just got home today (Sunday), will continue the rest of the story. Here are
some pics…

Perfection~
September 20th, 2006 by massiveheadwoundThanks for your comments and feedbacks, do keep em coming. I love sharing my thoughts… and most of you are right, it’s about…
…communication, intimacy, trust, a sense of humor, sharing household tasks, some getaway time and daily exchanges (a meal, shared activity, a hug, a call, a touch, a note) that matters and just enjoy each other’s company.
to those of you whom do not have a clue on what to do, try this:
-Leave a nice message on the voicemail or send a nice email. Hide some love notes…
Also,
Sharing common goals and interests. Growth is important. Grow together, not away from each other, but giving each other space to grow without feeling insecure. Absence does not make the heart grow fonder. But you can’t always be together. Give each other a sense of belonging and assurances of commitment. Don’t try to control one another. Learn each other’s family situation. Respect his or her parents regardless.
The difference between ‘United‘ and ‘Untied’ is where you put the i.
Like Hanzo put it, perfection is when we see perfection in the imperfection.
Are we perfect for each other?
September 19th, 2006 by massiveheadwoundAn African proverb states, "Before you get married, keep both eyes open, and after you marry, close one eye."
Before we get involved or make a commitment to someone, don’t let lust, desperation, immaturity, ignorance, pressure from others or a low self-esteem, blinds to warning signs. Keep your eyes open, and don’t fool yourself that you can change someone or that what you see as faults aren’t really important.
Once you decide to commit to someone, over time his or her flaws, vulnerabilities, pet peeves, and differences will become more obvious. If you love your mate and want the relationship to grow and evolve, you’ve got to learn to close one eye and not let every little thing bother you. Each one of us have different expectations, emotional needs, values, dreams, weaknesses, and strengths. We are unique individual children of God who have decided to share a life together.
Neither of us are perfect, but are we perfect for each other?
Do we bring out the best in each other?
